(1) If the respondent does not appear within the time limit of the notice given in accordance with sub-section (3) of section 140, the court hearing the appeal may set a date at least fifteen days later for the decision of the appeal and hear the appeal on that date.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), if the respondent does not appear within the time limit of the notice given in accordance with sub-section (3) of section 140, if the petition is filed before the date fixed under sub-section (1) and if such reason is found to be reasonable, the court shall extend his time limit. According to (1), he may be ordered to appear on the day of the appeal and decide the case.
